Glazing with Glass

In addition to the guide below, you can also watch our assembly videos – find them here.

Important Before You Start

To avoid cutting yourself remember to use gloves when installing glass.

Start by installing the glass in the roof, then the sides and at last the ends. In the assembly instructions it will be stated which glass should installed where.

Step 1

Apply Silicone Sealant According to the Assembly Instructions

Apply a 3-mm strip of silicone sealant to the vertical frame sections marked with a dotted line in the assembly instructions.

If you use more than the recommended amount, simply buy more tubes. Use non-corrosive (acid-free) silicone sealant only.

Step 2

Press the Glass Firmly into Position

Press the glass firmly into the silicone sealant.

Step 3

Inserting Glass Clips (1)

Insert the glass clips by sliding one tip of the clip under the bar and holding it in place with one finger. Position the clip’s small curved section between the glass and the aluminium frame.

Step 4

Insert Glass Clips (2)

Slide the other tip underneath the bar with your other hand so the small curved section of the clip is positioned between the glass and the aluminium frame. The wide curved section of the clip will now support the top surface of the glass.

Install 4 glass clips in the bottommost pieces of glass, but ONLY 2 in the overlapping glass sections. In the overlapping glass sections, insert the glass clips in the top one-third. Otherwise they will put too much pressure on the glass and could cause it to crack.

Step 5

Attach the Glass Holders

Insert two glass holders between the overlapping pieces of glass.

Slightly bend each holder before hanging it on the lower section of glass, which makes it easier to grip the holders when bending them around the glass.

Step 6

Check the Glass Holders

After hanging two glass holders on the lower section of glass, attach the overlapping section of glass.

Step 7

Insert the Top Piece of Glass

Slide the overlapping piece of glass all the way into the aluminium frames and press them into the silicone sealant to bind them.

Step 8

Bend the Glass Holders and Insert the Last Glass Clips

Bend the glass holders all the way round to hold the glass in place.

Insert 2 glass clips in the top one-third of the glass.

Step 9

Final Tips

Now the glass is mounted.

If it breaks, it can be cut out with a trimming knife. Remember to degrease both frame and glass with acetone before inserting a new piece of glass.
